Columbus Employee Puts Skills to the Test Against the Best in the Nation

Two weeks ago, some of Alabama’s top students traveled to Kansas City, Missouri, to participate in exciting national competitions and advanced leadership workshops at the

2011 SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference and Championships, June 20-25.

SkillsUSA is an organization devoted to preparing students for careers in technical, skilled, and service occupations. It serves over 300,000 high school, college, and professional members nationwide.  Alabama has approximately 9,000 members who enjoy this organization’s many benefits.

This year, more than 5,500 students participated in the national SkillsUSA championships.  Included was WATERS Columbus's very own Patrick Pennington.  Pennington placed 26th, which put him in the top 3% of Diesel/ Heavy Equipment Service Technology in the nation!

Congratulations Patrick, for a job well done!
