JOBS: System Administrator Needed

WATERS is looking for someone to fill a System Administrator role in the IT department. 
This position is responsible for the on-going monitoring, maintenance, and administration of free-standing or networked systems. Systems range from stand-alone PC applications, to servers, to Local Area Networks (LANs) with 125 or more users. Incumbents serve as the focal point or immediate help desk for clients in the area or facility supported. Incumbents also provide assistance ranging from installing new equipment, solving complex operating problems, providing project coordination for implementation of new network and/or PC-based systems, handling application development, Active Directory management (files and users), maintaining security software and hardware, database management, backup and recovery, IT purchasing, IT systems user training, and any other project or task requested. As skill sets are assessed and the employee learns our internal systems and processes, more responsibilities and access will be granted.

Systems Administrator is the specialist level where incumbents have demonstrated technical expertise in the administration and maintenance of Local Area Networks, detailed web design, and/or free standing PCs. They may bear full technical responsibility for an agency website. They may alternatively be responsible for ensuring that end-user hardware, software, security and network problems are resolved in a timely and effective manner. This includes coordinating the configuration and installation of hardware and software and ensuring that file server functions, E-mail connectivity and whatever else is necessary to support the Local Area Network environment is operating effectively. Incumbents work independently as well as with other technical staff to resolve complex operational problems and to coordinate the administration of the system or Local Area Network in Agencies with varying user bases.

Candidate must be trustworthy, organized, and willing to work hard.

Candidate would need to be able to multitask and be capable prioritizing tasks in the most necessary order of completion. 

Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree from accredited 4 year college (preferred, but not required if met with comparable experience)
Experience Requirements: 2+ years of experience in related field (preferred, but not required)
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to approximately 25 lbs and sometimes up to 50 lbs if moving equipment. Employee will be required to make and run cable at times, so he/she will need to be able to stand on ladders and crawl under desks, and possibly function in other tight spaces as needed. For the most part, employee will be functioning in an office environment and working at a desk with his/her computer.
